What is a Sectional Home?

Sectional homes, also known as manufactured homes or mobile homes, are a type of single-family dwelling constructed on a steel frame within the confines of a factory environment. This method ensures a high level of quality and efficiency. These homes are built to adhere to the HUD code, a federal set of regulations ensuring safely built homes. Sectionals are designed as two separate units that are assembled on-site. The result is a fully functional, comfortable home that’s as desirable as a traditional site-built home.

Benefits of Choosing a Sectional Home

Opting for a sectional home provides affordability, reliability, and durability with streamlined factory production. The climate-controlled assembly and freedom to personalize with customizable features make these homes very attractive to potential buyers. Additionally, they promote energy efficiency and sustainability through innovative design and materials.

Advanced Building Techniques

Homes are precisely built using advanced machinery, tools, and jigs. Brand-name components are also incorporated, making your home modern and more cost-effective in the long run.

These floorplans can be further modified or even combined to create a truly unique living space. From cozy 800 square feet homes to options up to 2000 square feet, ensuring that each homeowner finds their perfect fit.

Sectional Home FAQs

Are manufactured homes energy efficient?

Yes! Modern manufactured homes are built to meet federal energy efficiency standards, making them highly efficient to heat, cool, and live in. Factory construction ensures tight insulation, proper sealing, and energy-saving features that help reduce utility costs and improve comfort.

Can I customize my home?

Absolutely! Both manufactured and modular homes can be customized to meet your everyday needs.  Each offers a wide variety of factory options, color selections, and style enhancements to help you design both the exterior and interior of your home. From cabinetry, flooring, and countertops to siding, roofing, and architectural details, you can choose features that reflect your personal style and functional preferences.

Can I customize the floor plans?

Absolutely. While Cavco provides a wide array of base models, you can often customize kitchen layouts, add “glamour” bathrooms, or choose from various exterior finishes. We work directly with the Emlenton engineers to ensure your vision is possible.

Do I Need an Appointment to View Display Homes?

No appointment is required! Our display homes are open for walk-throughs during normal business hours. However, you’re always welcome to call ahead and schedule an appointment.

Does my home come with a warranty?

Yes. Every Cavco Emlenton home comes with a manufacturer’s limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Additionally, many of the components (such as shingles, siding, and appliances) carry their own separate manufacturer warranties.

How do house manufacturers use technology for quality and efficiency?

In addition to a skilled workforce force, house manufacturers rely heavily on computers, specialized tools, and machinery to build both manufactured and modular homes. Modern construction automation ensures precision and consistency, reduces material waste caused by human error, allows for faster production by performing multiple steps simultaneously, and enhances overall quality control throughout the building process.

How is a Manufactured Home Installed on Site?

Manufactured homes are installed using one of the HUD-approved setup methods. Homes may be placed on concrete frost-free footings with block piers and skirting, or on a permanent foundation, such as a full basement or crawlspace. At Valley Homes, we ensure your manufactured home is installed safely, securely, and in full compliance with HUD standards.

How long do manufactured homes last?

With proper installation and maintenance, manufactured homes can provide long-term durability and performance comparable to other forms of housing.

I found my new home, what is the next step?

Once you’ve selected a floor plan, we’ll begin designing your home and reviewing the required site construction services. After gaining a complete understanding of your project, we’ll prepare a detailed proposal outlining your home’s features, selected upgrades, and all necessary on-site construction services. This comprehensive approach ensures you know exactly what to expect before moving forward with the purchase of your new home.

What is a manufactured (or HUD) home?

A manufactured home is a factory-built home constructed to the federal HUD Code (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development standards). The home is built on a permanent steel chassis and transported to the home site for installation. These homes are available in both single-section and multi-section layouts.

What is the difference between a modular home, manufactured home and a mobile home?

The term “mobile home” refers to factory-built homes prior to 1976. Manufactured or “HUD” homes are homes built after the 1976 federal standard was created. Modular homes are built to the same stringent codes as conventional stick-built homes.
